The Society for Multiple Sclerosis Patients in Pakistan is a non-profit organization that has been working diligently for the welfare of MS patients in Pakistan since its establishment in 2011. The aim of this Society is to create awareness about Multiple Sclerosis in Pakistan, educate patients and help them understand how to cope with the disease so they can live better, healthy and active lives.

About the Society

The Society for Multiple Sclerosis Patients in Pakistan was established by Miss Afroz Syed, resident of 48 C 3 Gulberg 3 Lahore, after she was diagnosed with MS in January 2011. Due to lack of awareness and proper medical facilities in Pakistan, she had to face a lot of hardships and wasted a lot of time as her disease was not diagnosed at an early stage.

However, after her diagnosis, she did a lot of research to understand and find out about Multiple Sclerosis and how she could live a better and active life with this chronic and long-term debilitation disease. She also attended a seminar held on Word MS day by Bayer pharmaceutical at Holiday Inn Lahore in May 2011, where she met several MS patients. Most of these MS patients were neglected cases of MS who were not managing their disease properly because of lack of awareness, financial constraints and general lack of education about the disease.

It was at this time that Afroz started the Society by launching the website and Facebook page to educate people and work for the welfare for MS patients.
