I had been waiting for the Domain Authority (DA) and Page Authority (PA) for 1MillionBusinesses directory to update and I just checked today and viola! We now have a DA of 1 and PA of 1 too! Not much to be really excited about, but my directory just took the first step to success! 🙂

Domain Authority (DA) and Page Authority (PA) explained

Domain Authority and Page Authority are comparative metrics developed by Moz to predict how well a website ranks in search engines. Webmasters can compare their site with another by tracking the strength of their website using these metrics. A number of link metrics combine together to calculate the authority of a page or website, which include root domains linking to the website, number of total links, MozRank, MozTrust etc.

Both Domain Authority and Page Authority are measured on a scale of 1 – 100, with 100 being the best and 1 being the worst. The higher the domain authority of a website, the better it ranks in the search results.

When you enter a URL in the search box and enter the captcha code, you will see details for different metrics apart from Domain Authority and Page Authority, which include the Google PageRank, number of External links to the page, URL age (in years), number of Social Shares, number of External links to the domain etc. Screen shots for results of this website are given below.
